The following is a brief attempt to outline the different categories of rebus puzzles that can be found on PuzzleSoup.com. At lease half of the puzzles on this site could be effectively categorized in two or more groups. Ultimately, the categorization of each analogous word puzzle is up to its author. A brief description of each category along with two or three examples from each category are given.


Animals	Cute, fuzzy, cuddly or scaly. This category is the place for all animal related puzzles.

Biblical	The Bible is the origin of or inspired a large number of common phrases. As a book it has a greater influence on the English language than any other book.

Children	Children’s books, kids games, nursery rhymes, and the intricacies of childhood relationships make up the puzzles this category.
		Sam I Am		Here I Come
Economy	Coin or paper, silver or gold. Life is easier if you have a little money in you pocket. This category also acts as a catch all for anything related to big business or government finance.

Entertainment	If it entertains you this is the place. Be it dancing, a night out, or theater. It belongs here. The entertainment puzzles are closely tied to Media Puzzles. As a rule of thumb entertainment would be activities that are more personally engaging.

Fashion	Fashion plays an important role in every culture as a means to express ones individual personality or place in society. These fashion puzzles are dedicated to all things fashionable

Food	Everybody loves food and a couple of tasty treats make for good wordies.
